Growth Of Kalavadhyam

Kalavadhyam Academy For Arts And Cultures was founded by Radhakrishnan Edat and  Dheeraj Krishna Edat in 2010 with a motto to preserve the traditional art forms of Kerala and to train & perform the same in a traditional manner following all traditional practices. Kalavadhyam started its first chenda batch i n 2010 with a number of 4 students in a batch. Starting an arts and cultural academy with only 4 students in a single location in 2010, now in 2023, we are proud to say that we accomplished the below major milestones:
 

• 6 Branch Locations for classes being conducted in Bengaluru (5 Branches for Vaadhyam classes and 1 Location for Bharatanatyam)

• Trained more than 700 students in a decade time

• 123 Students Active Students

• 80+ Professional Artists

• 11 Courses 

• Classroom and Online Training

• Online Classes conducted for students in Australia and Singapore

• A Home based office premises where all  faculties and staff works in a homely atmosphere

• The first team of artists and students to outside Kerala to get selection to perform in Peruvanam Pooram, Chakkamkulangara Valiya Vilakku, Thrissur Pooram, etc

• Record Arangettam in Karntaka with having more than 100 artists performed 

• First Academy in Karnataka to have its students done arangettam in Panchari Melam (Full), Ashtapathi, Kombu Pattu and Kurum Kuzhal Pattu

• First Academy across globe to have its students done arangettam in Pandi Melam

• First Academy after Kerala Kalamandala to get recognition and affiliation to Kalavadhyam Courses and Programs

• Only Academy outside Kerala to have have collaborated with external University for Affiliation

• Have honored 3 popular artists from Kerala with Kalavadhyam Suvarna Mudhra Puraskaaram

Kalavadhyam Academy for Arts and Cultures, conducts trainings in Chenda, Ilathaalam, Kombu, Edakka, Ashtpathi and Thimila under the guidance of Gurunaadhan Shri Kalavadhyam Dheeraj Edat. Bharatanatyam classes are conducted under the guidance of guru Vidushi Smt Divya Mani. We have special visiting faculties in Kalavadhyam who are well known and popular artists.

Kalavadhyam Major Events

​

Kalavadhyam Academy organizes major events for its students to be part of it to get an exposure. The major events organized annually are as follows:

• Special Study Class To Thrissur: New batch students will get an opportunity to go to Thrissur and learn under the guidance of famous melam artist Shri Peruvanam Sanakaranayanan Marar

• Kalavadhyam Kshethrolsavam: An exclusive event organized by Kalavadhyam Academy for its students to perform and also get an experience

• Kalavadhyam Annual Meeting: Held annually to discuss about the academic functionalities, process, new updates and also an open forum to discuss your thoughts and ideas.

• Kalavadhyam Bikers Trip: We have a lot of students who love to travel. So this for them. A bike rider group with all age groups

• Kalavadhyam Sports Day: For all sports talented students who would like to participate in Badminton and Cricket

• Weekend Team Outing: Organized for all Kalavadhyam students to be a part of Saturday-Sunday outing to enjoy with your batchmates

• KalaYathra: An exclusive travel to Thripunithura during Virschikolsavam for interested students to see the major melam programs
