Established in 2010, Kalavadhyam Academy for Arts & Cultures is a registered cultural institution based in Bangalore, dedicated to preserving, promoting, and nurturing Kerala's traditional performing arts ad temple percussion heritage. Over the years, the Academy has earned recognition through its commitment to quality training, cultural excellence, artist development, and collaborations with various cultural organisations and institutions.

Shri Radhakrishnan Edat

Shri Radhakrishnan Edat serves as the Chairman of Kalavadhyam Academy for Arts & Cultures. A retired Central Government employee with an illustrious career spanning over four decades, he has always been recognised for his integrity, discipline, and commitment to public service.
Following his retirement, he dedicated himself entirely to the administration and development of Kalavadhyam Academy. Under his leadership, the Academy has strengthened its organisational structure, expanded its cultural initiatives, and continued its mission of preserving Kerala's traditional arts with professionalism and purpose. His guidance and experience remain instrumental in shaping the Academy's long-term vision and sustainable growth.

Shri Dheeraj Edat

Shri Dheeraj Edat is the Founder and Vice Chairman of Kalavadhyam Academy for Arts & Cultures and the driving force behind its remarkable growth since its establishment in 2010. With a vision to make Kerala's traditional percussion arts accessible to learners across Bangalore and beyond, he founded Kalavadhyam as a platform for quality education, cultural preservation, and artist development.
An accomplished Chenda artist, faculty member, and mentor, Shri Dheeraj has personally trained over 1,000 students through Kalavadhyam, inspiring learners of all ages to embrace the discipline, tradition, and excellence of Kerala's temple arts.
His musical journey began under the guidance of renowned gurus Shri Mohana Marar and Shri Rajesh Marar, where he built a strong foundation in traditional percussion. He later pursued advanced training under the maestro Shri Peruvanam Sankaran Marar, further refining his artistry and deepening his understanding of Kerala's classical temple percussion traditions.
Beyond teaching, Shri Dheeraj has been instrumental in organising cultural festivals, workshops, artist welfare initiatives, and performance opportunities that have helped hundreds of aspiring artists gain practical exposure and recognition. His vision continues to inspire Kalavadhyam's mission of preserving Kerala's rich cultural heritage while building a vibrant community of dedicated artists.
